Tips on Sharing & Creating Art During the Holidays.

The holidays are a time for sharing happiness and celebration. We spend time with family and friends, we make memories, and we decorate our homes with holiday cheer. While the holidays can be a happy time, it can also be difficult to find time to create art. Whether you’ve been feeling like your creativity has been at a low or you’re looking for some new ideas this season, these tips will help you stay creative during the holidays!

1. Set Realistic Goals: It may sound contradictory but setting realistic goals is one of the best ways to stay motivated during the hectic holiday season.
2. Be Patient: The path to creativity takes patience and perseverance so try not to give up if you don't feel like your artwork is coming out as well as you had hoped.
3. Find Inspiration: Excitement and hope are two things that define the spirit of the season so be sure to find inspiration in those things and not just in all of the.

Setting Realistic GoalsThe holidays are a time when there is so much to do that it's difficult to find time for anything else. Whether you're hosting family events, shopping for gifts, or trying not to let the stress of the season get the best of you, it can be hard to find time for creativity.
One way to stay motivated during this busy season is to set realistic goals. When you set achievable goals, it's easier to make them work into your schedule and stay on track with your creative pursuits.
For example, if you want to paint but don't have the time, maybe try setting a goal like painting one scene in three hours instead of trying to finish an entire painting at once. Setting realistic goals will help keep you motivated as well as make sure that your creative pursuits don't take a backseat during the busy holiday season.

Be PatientIt takes time and patience to create a piece of art. It can be easy to give up on an idea after only a few minutes but you'll be surprised at what you're capable of when you stick with it!
Just remember that the path to creativity takes patience and perseverance so try not to give up if you don't feel like your artwork is coming out as well as you had hoped.
Remember, excitement and hope are two things that define the spirit of the season so find inspiration in those things and not just in all of the holiday stress.

Find InspirationInspiration is an important part of the creative process. If you find yourself struggling to stay creative during the busy holiday season, try looking for inspiration in your surroundings.
Finding new inspirations can be difficult when you're used to your normal routine. So take a walk around your neighborhood or visit a nearby museum or gallery. You may find that there's some inspiration waiting for you.
Or, if you're feeling brave, start with a blank canvas and see what emerges!

Stay Creative with Holiday ArtThe holiday season is a time to let your creativity shine! But sometimes, it can be difficult to find the time or space in order to do so. We hope these tips will help you stay creative during the holidays!
  1. Set Realistic Goals: It may sound contradictory but setting realistic goals is one of the best ways to stay motivated during the hectic holiday season. Try to include your loved ones in a creative project.
  1. Be Patient: The path to creativity takes patience and perseverance so try not to give up if you don't feel like your artwork is coming from the same muse, this holiday muse is coming from a different place, settle down and listen.
  2. Find Inspiration: Excitement and hope are two things that define the spirit of the season so be sure to find inspiration in those things and not just in all of the stress.

Conclusion Creating art during the holiday season may seem like a struggle, but there are many ways to stay creative and make it happen. It all starts with setting realistic goals and staying patient. My family has a long standing tradition of piling all who are agreeable (kids love this) into the car with art supplies, buying hot chocolate, and driving to 3 different scenic places. We stop at each for approx. 15 minutes, do quick sketching and move on. When we get home we have an exhibit and enjoy each others efforts.

Another idea in this time of covid is a zoom craft project. My daughter mailed simple craft projects to all family with young children and they got together on zoom and enjoyed working simultaneously with family they don't get to see regularly.

Let your imagination go, share the joy of the creative process this Holiday season!
